What a joy and privilege it has been for me to paint professionally for 45 years.  Many times I’ve been approached with the strong suggestion that I should have prints made of my paintings. --- Not only for financial gain, but so that thousands more people will be able to enjoy my work.  While these statements may be facts, it still is not what I wish to do.  Yes, years ago I allowed Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE to make and sell prints of one of my paintings as a Fundraiser to help with the Building Fund.   I realize other artists are perfectly comfortable having prints made and that’s fine for them.  This is not something that satisfies me personally. I have donated artwork originals to many worthy causes during these years, but I do not intend to have prints made of my paintings for any reason.

By Gods grace and with his help I paint each and every painting with my whole heart.  As the artist goes thru changes so does his work and style and even to a certain extent his technique.  Normally however an artist’s work can be recognized by his own style just as we recognize a person’s handwriting.   I believe each painting is an expression of all the emotions felt by the artist during the time of its creation. Truly it is a vessel filled to the brim with the sum total of what makes the artist who he or she is.   Just as our handwriting tells major amounts about our personality and character, so our paintings speak volumes for “kindred sprits” to hear and see.  My desire is for that “kindred spirit” to have and enjoy the full vessel --- not to have to be satisfied with a watered-down version.  I prefer the owners of my paintings to have the original painting --- created by my own hand.  I would like each work to speak peace into people’s lives and homes.  I literally want each painting to be a silent song of praise to God.   My goal is to present my personal view of life in paint --- believing as I do so, some others will feel what I felt and will want to be able to enter this ‘view’ anytime they wish by owning that particular painting.

My motto continues to be: ALWAYS ORIGINAL, NEVER A PRINT.
